How do I book a Food Hop?

Choose the Food Hop you want to book. Fill in the booking details on the Booking Form, and CHECK AVAILABILITY. Then, BOOK NOW to finish the booking process. After your booking is complete, you will receive one (1) email from PayPal with your receipt, one (1) email from VegThisCity confirming your booking and one (1) email with an information pack on your chosen Food Hop. Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, tickets must be booked in advance. Capacities are highly limited due to the size of the venues we will visit. To book, please go to our booking page and choose a date that works for you. We cannot guarantee that bookings made within 24 hours of the Food Hop will be accepted, and we will inform you if so.

Do I get a refund if I cancel my experience?

We understand plans may change and sometimes you have to cancel your experience. The following cancellation fees apply:

  • Cancellation with at least 1 week in advance: full refund, excluding 10% transaction fee
  • Cancellation with at least 2 days in advance: 50% refunded
  • Cancellation with less than 2 days in advance: No refunds

In order to issue a refund on Food Hops cancelled in advance, cancellation must be made via e-mail. Due to our logistics and the arrangements we have with the venues we visit on our Food Hops, we are unable to offer refunds on shorter notice.

What happens if it rains?

The Food Hops go on rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the walk. We also provide ponchos in case of sudden weather changes or if you do not have your own umbrella. However, we advise to check the weather conditions for the day of your Food Hop and dress accordingly. If the Food Hop has to be cancelled before it starts or mid-way, you will be offered the option of a refund or a reschedule.

I cannot print the confirmation email. Can I show it on my phone?

You do not have to print your voucher. A confirmation on your phone will be fine!

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating?

Yes, all guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to partake in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not able to join the experience for any reason(s). The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your guide’s fees, whom are offering valuable commentary on historical, architectural, cultural and restaurant information during our neighborhood food experiences.


What is a Food Hop?

A feel-good food and culture trail! On our Food Hops, we’ll explore various districts in Singapore on foot and enjoy exciting culinary discoveries and cultural experiences. All the food we taste is vegan/vegetarian.


VegThisCity is the only trail organiser in Singapore to offer unique meatfree trail experiences.

What if I have a food allergy or cannot eat certain foods?

We take food allergies very seriously and deal with them on a case-by-case basis. If you have specific food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can try to customise a Food Hop based on your needs. At the end of the day, it is the sole responsibility of the participant to take care of his or her own dietary needs. We cannot guarantee that any dish or restaurant is 100% free of allergens, but we will strive to provide you with the information necessary to make an informed dining decision.

Where is the meeting point?

Each experience has a unique meeting point. Please visit the description for details on the meeting point. The meeting point will also be provided in your confirmation email.

Is the experience suitable for children?

Our Food Hops take approximately 4 hours and involve a lot of standing and walking. Some children/ages have a limited attention span that might be challenged by our story and food/drink tasting sessions. We ask that parents, who know their children best, use their own judgment when deciding if the experience is appropriate for their children.

If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

If you are bringing an infant / very young child below 6 years of age and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them.


Children above 6 years of age will need to purchase a ticket to participate in the experience.

Is there a lot of walking?

You must wear comfortable shoes. Our tours take approximately 4 hours and involve a lot of standing and walking, but it’s not too difficult. We will also sit at certain stops. Also it would be great to take a bottle of water with you to prevent dehydration, especially in Singapore’s tropical weather.

How much food is served on the Food Hop?

All the delicious food is included in the price of your ticket. Some drinks will be included. You are welcome to purchase any additional beverages to go with your food tasting. We organise the experience so that, at the end of the 3-4 hours, most guests leave feeling comfortably full.

Where does your food come from?

We take pride in building a good relationship with those in the food and drink industry – chefs, suppliers, owners, innovators, kitchen crew  – and personally handpick the dishes and venues we would be proud to bring our family and friends to. The food and drink we will taste is top-quality, fresh and local. Although many of the restaurants we will be visiting are not primarily vegan/vegetarian, they have specially-designed vegetarian/vegan dishes for this experience. Through our Food Hops, we hope you will gain a better appreciation of the meatfree gastronomy in Singapore.

Can you customise private Food Hops?

Yes, arrangements can be made for all Food Hops offered. We can also customise your experience depending on your needs. Please write to us at

Are Food Hops offered only in English?

Yes, we only offer Food Hops in English at this time. Please  write to us at if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the experience or if you are interested in having the experience in a different language as we are able to accommodate most requests ahead of time.

Can I tip the guide?

Of course you may! Gratuities are never mandatory but always appreciated.
