Who leads the Food, Culture and Trend Tours?

VegThisCity walking tours are led by foodies, researchers, entrepreneurs and experts in their field. Our guides are officially certified by the Singapore Tourism Board, and are very passionate about sharing their knowledge and first-hand experience. You’ll see from our reviews that we operate a very different kind of Walking Tour – you’ll go beyond the typical sights and become immersed in local communities, cultures and customs.

TOUR FAQs

Is the food on your Tours vegan / plant-based / vegetarian-friendly?

Yes! All food on our Tours are vegan-friendly / vegetarian-friendly so that everyone can enjoy Singapore's unique Food Culture. If you have any specific requests (i.e., allium-free / low oil / gluten-free, etc.), please contact us before booking so that we can better understand your needs and advise accordingly.

What if I have a food allergy or cannot eat certain foods?

We take food allergies very seriously and deal with them on a case-by-case basis. If you have specific food allergies, please contact us with your dietary restrictions before booking so that we can better understand your needs and advise accordingly.

While we will make every effort, however we seek your understanding that there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all food tolerances/special diets.

Where is the Tour meeting point?

Each Walking Tour has a unique meeting point. Please refer to each Tour for information on the neighbourhood we cover, and your confirmation email for the meeting point. Remember to arrive at your meeting point 5-10 minutes ahead of time!

Is the experience suitable for children?

Due to the nature of a Walking Tour, there will be a lot of standing and walking both indoors and outdoors in Singapore’s tropical weather. We ask that parents, who know their children best, use their own judgment when deciding if the experience is appropriate for their children.

If you are bringing an infant / very young child below 6 years of age and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them.  Children aged 6 years and above will need to purchase a ticket to participate in the experience. Children tickets are priced lower than adult tickets.

Are the tours suitable for persons on mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers)?

If you have any concerns about accessibility, please contact us before booking so that we can better understand your needs and advise accordingly. While most of our tours can be done on/with mobility devices, some adjustments to the route may be made to ensure your comfort and safety.

Do your Walking Tours include Food and Drink?

Any Food and Drink featured on your Tour will be included in the price of your ticket. Please refer to each Tour for information on the amount of Food and Drink provided. You are welcome to purchase any additional beverages along the way.

What type of food is featured on the Walking Tours?

We take pride in building good relationships with those in the Food and Drink industry – chefs, suppliers, owners, innovators, kitchen crew  – and personally handpick the dishes and venues we would be proud to bring our family and friends to. All food on our Tours are vegan-friendly / vegetarian-friendly so that everyone can enjoy Singapore's unique and sustainable Food Culture. If you have any specific requests (i.e., allium-free / low oil / gluten-free, etc.), please contact us before booking so that we can better understand your needs and advise accordingly.

Can you customise Private Tours or Team Building events?

Yes! We will work with you to craft and curate a Tour depending on your needs. Please contact us at info@vegthiscity.com for assistance.

Are Tours offered only in English?

We work alongside certified interpreters and multi-lingual guides to conduct Private and Corporate Tours in different languages. Please write to us at info@vegthiscity.com if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour or if you are interested in a tour in a different language as we are able to accommodate most requests ahead of time.

Can I tip our Tour Guide?

Certainly! Gratuities are never mandatory but always appreciated. All tips go 100% to the Guides.

BOOKING, PAYMENT, CANCELLATION FAQs

Do I get a refund if I cancel my experience?

We understand plans may change and sometimes you have to cancel your Walking Tour.  We will provide a full refund if we receive your cancellation notice within the cancellation period – please check each Tour for individual cancellation period. Note that refunds exclude any service fees/charges by our ticketing platform.

If you are running late, please reach out to us. We have a 5-minute waiting time at the start of each tour. Refunds are not provided for no-shows or late arrivals on the day.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?

Due to the varying logistical needs of each venue, we do require tickets to be purchased in advance for all Tours. This gives us and all the venues enough time to plan and make the necessary arrangements for your visit. Tickets can be paid for using most credit cards via the secured third-party ticketing platform on our website. You may also do a wire transfer to our local bank account in Singapore.

What happens if it rains?

The Tours go on rain or shine. In the event of rain, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the Tour. Singapore weather can be unpredictable, so please dress comfortably and bring along a poncho/an umbrella and a sense of adventure. Some of the best moments take place in the rain!

If the Tour has to be cancelled before it starts or mid-way due to unsafe weather conditions, you will be offered the option to reschedule.

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating?

Yes, all guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to partake in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not able to join the experience for any reason(s). The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food tastings and also to pay for your guide’s fees, whom are offering valuable commentary on historical, architectural, cultural and culinary information during your Tours.
